Better Late Than Never!

So I have not done the best job with keeping the blog updated but better late than never right?

Hannah will be 14 months old on the 18th! The months just keep flying by. She is all over the place now and is developing quite the vocabulary which has been hilarious for Sean and I to experience. Some of the words she is saying are:
*Hi (usually with a !)
*Bye-Bye (with a wave of course)
*Mama
*Da-da
*Nana
*Papa
*Woof Woof (when she sees a dog)
*Maow (cat sound duh!)
*Moo
*Roar! (What do you say to a lion?)
*Howryou (really fast, usually comes after 'Hi!')
*Han-nah (we're still working on the last name)
*Oh Woah! (usually when she's watching Wipe Out or playing in the pool)
*Baby
*Eyes
*Boo! (with a Texan accent)
*Ice
It's so fun to hear her try to communicate with Sean and I (and everyone she sees at Wal-Mart). She is a very social little girl already and I have a feeling we are going to have the "don't talk to strangers" talk very early on :-)

The pictures here are from July 4th..I'm sure the outfits tipped you off to that one. We had a great time hanging out with family at my parent's house, eating stuff off the grill and indulging in homemade ice cream. I made Banana Walnut and Oreo ice cream and it actually turned out pretty good! This was the first 4th of July in 3 years that I didn't have to work so it was especially enjoyable for me! I stayed as far away from a festival as possible.

Hope you had a great 4th as well!

11 months old!

I can't believe in a few weeks that we will be celebrating Hannah's 1st Birthday! This year has just flown by. Below are some photos from April...Easter, our trip to Austin to see Sean's grandparent's, fun times at Nana and Papa's house (my parents), and crazy times with mom!

February Fun Times

February has been filled with lots of fun for the Deitrick household! The pictures did not exactly come out in the order I wanted but I don't have time to move them around so we must deal with it as is. Sometimes you just have to let go :-) Anyways, this has been a busy month for me getting ready for weddings in April, doing some consulting with other cities and preparing for the big Chamber banquet tomorrow evening. But the best part of this month was seeing Hannah change so much! If you scroll down you'll see a couple of Hannah's Valentine's Day presents. Her daddy got her another Praise Baby DVD and mommy was so glad because she was really tired of singing those 90's worship songs from Praise Baby Version 1. Hannah also received some cute clothes and the pink ball seen below from her Grandmama and Papa for her first Valentine's Day. Needless to say she was very loved and she loved opening the presents. Her Granny got her some heart frog PJ's and a new toy that has become a teether like everything else!

Then, on Feb. 24th Hannah rode in her first parade! I was asked to be Grand Marshall of the Lake Dallas Mardi Gras parade so I recruited my mom's help in making Hannah a cute outfit and Granny got us lots of beads. Sean took off work early so we could all join in the fun. Hannah did really well the entire time. She loves being outside so outside + lots of people waving at her = good time to Hannah.

The last picture below is of Hannah in her Papa's truck. Don't worry, they didn't go anywhere with her just sitting in the seat with no car seat :-) She was just testing it out. I can't believe Hannah is 9 months old now! She's all over the place and it's a lot of fun. Hopefully next month we can slow down a little because whew, I'm tired!

Catch-Up Time

Know what happens when you neglect your family blog? Your husband starts posting things like the previous entry, that's what! The Shamwow guy IS pretty funny but he can never be as awesome as my little girl was as Christmastime. Here are some photos of Christmas Eve at my parent's house and the day after Christmas in Oklahoma with my grandparents.

Christmas...Round 1

Well, Christmas officially began for us this past Sunday when we had our get-together with my dad's mom and brother, 1 cousin and my parents. My aunt and other cousin couldn't make it because Kelsie broke her leg in a basketball game and was in quite a bit of pain, obviously not in the mood for a 4 hour drive to Denton.
Anyhowsers, my Granny cooked a delicious lunch and Hannah got to open her first Christmas presents! Even at just 7 months old she had no problem whatsoever getting the hang of ripping paper. One of the most exciting gifts she got (well, mainly exciting for me, the mama!) was her Rainforest Jumperoo! See photo below. We are already enjoying this immensely and I highly recommend it for you moms out there who do not have one. You can actually get one as soon as the baby can hold its head up well...we are just a little slow (and poor) so we had to wait until Christmas!

Hannah was in a great mood all day and enjoyed all her new toys. Tomorrow evening for Christmas Eve we are having dinner and presents with my parents. Yes, they were also present at Round 1 but we did not exchange presents with them at Granny's. We have always done presents with them on Christmas Eve and it is just a special time with them and us. I am looking forward to our traditional Christmas Eve mexican food! My contribution is homemade apple pie.

We will be travelling to Forney on Christmas Day and then up to Okie land the next day where we will be spending the night AND going to our friends' wedding in Duncan. Pray for safe travel with the baby...and my sanity.

Here are some pictures from Christmas at Granny's on Sunday!
